Garlic Sauce Recipes

This is simply devine, whether used in casseroles and stews or just a dash on your steak – the flavour is amazing!  And very healthy for you too!!

Here are some of my favourite recipes using the Garlic Sauce:

Welsh Rarebit
Four to six slices of bread
1 cup of grated cheese
1 egg
Splash of beer (drink the rest)
2 tbls of garlic sauce

Toast bread on one side, then spoon mixture evenly over uncooked side of bread and grill in the oven until nicely browned.

Silverbeet with mushrooms
Heat 2 tbls of olive oil in pan
Add chopped silver beet (one medium Bunch) and about a cup of chopped mushrooms.
Heat through in the oil and add 2 to 4 tbls (to taste) of garlic sauce, saute for a few minutes and serve.
The garlic sauce brings out the flavour of the silver beet and this is a nice side dish for any meal.

Marinade for chicken
Marinate chicken pieces for 20 minutes (or longer if desired) in enough garlic sauce to coat chicken and bake at medium heat until chicken is done.

Marinade for Steak
Particularly nice with rump steak.
Beat steak and use 2 or 3 tsps of Garlic sauce per piece of steak - coat both sides and leave for at least 20 minutes longer if desired and cook quickly on high heat in a heavy based fry pan (add olive oil to fry pan to prevent sticking). Cook to desired doneness.

Marinade for Pork Chops
Use about 1 tbsp of Garlic sauce per chop - grill in a hot oven until done.

Add 2 tbls of Garlic sauce to any casserole. It gives a nice piquant and slightly sweet flavour.

Stir Fry
Add 2 to 4 tbls to stir fry

Noodles and Garlic sauce
I use fresh thick egg noodles but any noodles can be used (if using dry noodles cook to al dente first)

Heat about 4 tbls of cooking oil (canola, sunflower) in a hot heavy based pan. Add noodles - stir to lightly coat in oil and heat through, then add Garlic sauce to coat and to taste probably about 4 tbls.

Stir in chopped spring onions if desired or have as side dish by itself.
